Network Engineer

The Network Engineer position requires a strong aptitude for the most common and popular networking technologies. In addition to technical aptitudes and experience, the position requires good communication skills, an aptitude for keeping others calm in stressful situations, and a recognition that tickets and projects have people connected to them. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities desired:

• Strong experience required with Windows desktop operating systems, routers, and firewalls

• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and internet connectivity

• A working knowledge of wireless technologies

• A thorough understanding of network infrastructure

• Possess the ability to articulate technical information to non-technical clients

• While being a team player, the ideal candidate must also be willing to tackle issues alone

• Enjoy sharing information with others and using the central document repository to promote a deep knowledge base and enable best practices among all team members to improve the company’s value

• Proven experience in incident management, service request management, and creative problem solving

• Investigate and resolve issues on client networks and IT estates using agreed troubleshooting methodologies

• Plan and execute in-depth technical activity while providing technical insight and guidance to others

• Perform the documentation of client networks and all records relating to service requests, incidents, problems, and knowledge management

• Deliver results to clients that are in line with company project quality standards

Position Responsibilities:

• Documentation of client networks

• Investigate and help to resolve issues on client networks and IT estates using agreed troubleshooting methodologies

• Plan and execute in-depth technical activity. Providing technical insight and guidance to others in order to influence the strategy and direction of customer support and internal systems.

• All records relating to Service Requests, Incidents, Problems and Knowledge Management are completed accurately and within an agreed timeframe

• Project work expected to be delivered in line with project quality standards


Credentials and Experience:

  • Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience
  • CCNA or equivalent
  • CompTia IT Project, Linux, Network+, Security+ or equivalent a plus
  • MCP or equivalent, MCSE a plus
  • Leadership experience a plus
