Discover how to request and manage files from external users using OneDrive. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to streamline your file collaboration process.
Begin by navigating to your OneDrive and selecting the folder you would like the files to be uploaded to. Select 'Request files' from the top menu.
A dialog will ask 'What files are you requesting?' Enter a description of the types of files you are expecting. End users will see this message when they receive your file request. Select Next to continue.
The next screen will display a link you can share yourself or add email addresses and an optional message to send direct messages with the link.
In your OneDrive, navigate to the folder you originally used to make the file request.
Click on the three dots (...) next to the folder to bring up the folder options menu, then choose 'Manage access.'
In the section titled 'Links Giving Access,' find the three dots (...) next to your file request link. Click the 'X' and select 'Delete link' to deactivate it.
External users will not be able to see any of the content of the folder they are uploading to.
