Frank Darnold is currently a Special Agent with the Virginia State Police and has been a police officer for 20 years. For the past 5 years, Frank has been a digital forensic examiner assigned to the High Tech. Crime Division.

Frank has over 1400 hours of training in Digital forensics.  Frank has attended multiple courses at the United States Secret Service National Computer Forensic Institute, including Computer Evidence Recovery Training, Mobile Device Examiner, Vehicle Forensics Course, and Network Intrusion Training.

Frank has also attended multiple commercial vendor courses from Cellebrite, Magnet Forensics, and Berla. In 2025, Frank attended the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists Basic Computer Forensic Course and successfully completed their 5-month certification process.

James Walter, CIO

Chesterfield County

James Walters is a technologist with over 30 years’ experience. James is currently the Chief Information Systems Officer (CISO) for Chesterfield County, VA. Previous to this role James worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation as an Enterprise Services Operation Manager supporting $13 Billion managed IT service transformation program for the Virginia Information Technologies Agency and the Virginia executive branch agencies.

James is well-versed in cybersecurity, networking, systems administration and field services operations. He has held information technology roles in support of commercial, state and local government customers.

James' experience includes certifications from vendors such as; Cisco, CompTIA, DRII, Dell, EMC, EXIN, Fortinet, HDI, HP, ITIL, ISACA, ISC2, Microsoft, Palo Alto, and VMware.

James has been involved with CompTIA as a subject matter expert since 2016, writing the industry exam questions for the CompTIA Security+, Cyber Security Analyst+ and CASP+ exams. James maintains the A+, Network+, Server+, Security+, CySA+, CASP+, Cloud+ and Project+ CompTIA certifications.

James serves on the board of directors for the ISC2RVA, a local security chapter in Richmond and holds the ISC2 CISSP, CCSP, SSCP, and CC certifications.

• Take the Boulevard exit #78
• Go south approximately one and a half miles on the Boulevard (Route 161) to Cary Street and take a left
• Go one-half mile to Meadow Street and take a right
• Go one mile to Pennsylvania Street and take a right
• Go one block to Maymont’s Hampton Street parking lot

FROM THE POWHITE PARKWAY (Southside, Midlothian):
• After the Chippenham Toll Plaza, get in the right lane
• Bear right onto 195 East (the Downtown Expressway)
• Take the Maplewood exit from 195 and bear left onto Maplewood
• Go one block to Sheppard and take a left
• Go approximately one-half mile to Cary Street and take a right
• Go one mile to Meadow Street and take a right
• Go one mile to Pennsylvania Street and take a right
• Go one block to Maymont’s Hampton Street parking lot

FROM THE DOWNTOWN EXPRESSWAY – 195 (Coming From Downtown):
• Take the Meadow Street exit immediately after the toll plaza
• Take the first left onto Meadow Street
• Go one mile to Pennsylvania Avenue and take a right
• Go one block to Maymont’s Hampton Street parking lot
